HISTORY
Nordic Models agency founded the pageants while working with new models in the Finland.
When trying to encourage some of the Finnish models to enter in the International pageants
they were met with the question: "Why donīt we have our own international beauty contest related
to Finland, snow and warm spirit of Christmas? ".
Not long after that NM started one in 1992 and soon was Miss Christmas Finland getting national attention.
In 1996 the pageant reached national status.
In 2002, the pageant was introduced to some international co-operators.
In 2004 and 2005 we had international contestants from outside Finland too.
After two years of preparation, NMīs dream of an actual international pageant came true with the
launch of the Miss Christmas World Pageant 2007 in Asia.
The Miss Christmas is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with representatives worldwide. It is staffed
by experts in fields ranging from marketing and TV production to modeling and casting providing a range
of services for women.
The Miss Christmas World Pageant provides the opportunities - the mentoring, career training, resources
and life experiences - for beauties all over the world.
The pageants begin at the local level where a network of talent scouts and preliminary directors,
selected by NM, hold auditions and preliminary pageants to qualify young women for the national Miss
Christmas pageants held each winter. The pageant headquarters receives many applications each day from
young women hoping to enter into the model world. Preliminary pageants are held in countries with the
winner continuing on to The Miss Christmas World. The winner of the The Miss Christmas Finland represents
the Finland in the international Miss Christmas World Pageant held each winter in December. The Miss
Christmas will continue its activities toward international contribution in the future.
